About Medixsafe

Welcome to MEdixsafe

MedixSafe launched in 2009 when it first began designing and manufacturing narcotics control cabinets for the EMS market. It was created by Electronic Security Specialists (ESSC Inc.), a Memphis-based electronic security/network cabling company established in 1987 by its founder and sole owner, Jim Turner.

Although MedixSafe now serves hundreds of customers worldwide, the company actually came into being in 2009 to meet the needs of just one. The first MedixSafe narcotics cabinet was created specifically for the Jericho, N.Y., Fire Department, which sought to secure all the narcotics purchased by the department and used on their ambulances. Uncomfortable with other cabinets on the market because they used only a single PIN code for user verification, the Department turned to the access control expertise of ESSC Inc. They built a small narcotics cabinet requiring dual credentials to access and aptly named it MedixSafe, because it keeps meds and medics safe.

From there, the MedixSafe product lines grew, along with the demand for them. MedixSafe’s key control solutions are meeting the needs of doctors, dentists, veterinarians, university research departments and schools of medicine, hospitals, pharmacies, fire departments, realtors, commercial and industrial clients, and the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.
